IVC_Facility.jpg

Biowise has been granted planning consent to build and operate a state of the art in-vessel composting (IVC) facility under the Animal By-Product Regulations 2005 (ABPR) in the former Little Weighton Railway Cutting. The facility will complement our existing open windrow composting facility and is designed to process up to 60,000 tonnes per annum of source segregated food and biodegradable waste from municipal and commercial & industrial (C&I) sources which would otherwise be disposed of to landfill.

The proposed scheme will help address the current shortage of composting facilities in the Yorkshire and Humber region and contribute towards challenging Landfill Directive targets. It will also give an important boost to the local economy by creating up to five full time skilled jobs and indirectly generating many more during the construction phase and as a result of new waste collections. Consistent with our philosophy, the technology and process has been selected as the best available technique in the interests of both the environment and the community.

Windfarm.jpgWastewise is committed to helping the UK meet its renewable energy targets and reduce its carbon emissions. Accordingly, we are currently investigating potential renewable energy projects and have commissioned feasibility studies and trials for wind and landfill gas power generation on the completed Willerby landfill site.

Albion_House_Thumb.jpgWastewise is currently building a new head office at our Willerby site just off the A164 roundabout opposite the Ketch pub and Willerby Shopping Park.

The two storey office building, which is due to completed in March 2012, will be built to a very high standard incorporating a feature double height glazed atrium and allocated car parking facilities.

Wastewise will occupy the upper floor and will lease the ground floor as a whole or as two separate suites. Please contact our agents, PPH Commercial, on 01482 648888 for more information.
